Η Λένα Γουργιώτη υπήρξε η «ψυχή» του Λαογραφικού Ιστορικού Μουσείου Λάρισας. Με πολύ κόπο, αγάπη, πίστη και προσπάθεια αφιερώθηκε στην συντήρηση, μελέτη και προβολή, αντικειμένων που αποτελούν δείγματα του παραδοσιακού μας πολιτισμού, της λαϊκής τέχνης και της λαϊκής παράδοσης της Θεσσαλίας.
 
Με δικά της οικονομικά μέσα και με την πολύτιμη βοήθεια του συζύγου της, το όνειρο για τη λειτουργία του Λαογραφικού Ιστορικού Μουσείου έγινε πραγματικότητα. Το έργο που αφήνει πίσω της πολύτιμο για όλους τους Θεσσαλούς. Θερμά συλλυπητήρια στους οικείους της.
