Κατά μισό μέτρο υποχώρησε η στάθμη του νερού στον ποταμό Καράμπαλη, όπου το μεσημέρι υπερχείλισε και «έπνιξε» τον οικισμό Μαύρικα, αγροικίες και στάβλους της περιοχής.
Εκείνο που προβληματίζει τους αρμόδιους φορείς είναι πως οι μεγάλες ποσότητες του νερού κατευθύνονται προς το Δήμο Παλαμά και γι΄ αυτό βρίσκονται σε επιφυλακή.
Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες η στάθμη του ποταμού Καλέντζη άρχισε να ανεβαίνει επικίνδυνα τις τελευταίες ώρες.
Αξίζει να αναφέρουμε πως εκατοντάδες αθίγγανοι από τη Μαύρικα, έχουν μεταφερθεί στα κλειστά γυμναστήρια των  4ου ΓΕΛ και 2ου ΓΕΛ, ώστε να διανυκτερεύσουν με ασφάλεια.
