Αντιπαράθεση πυροδότησε, κατά τη συζήτηση του πολυνομοσχεδίου, η δήλωση του βουλευτή του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ Αλέξη Μητρόπουλου ότι η κυβέρνηση εκ προμελέτης οδηγεί τα ταμεία σε κατάρρευση. «Τρομοκρατείτε τον κόσμο και τους συνταξιούχους. Το κράτος εγγυάται για τα ταμεία και τις συντάξεις. Η Αργεντινή δεν τα εγγυάται», απάντησε ο υφυπουργός Ανάπτυξης Γεράσιμος Γιακουμάτος.

Η αρχή της αντιπαράθεσης έγινε όταν ο κ. Μητρόπουλος σημείωσε ότι «ο κ. Τσίπρας και οι βουλευτές έχουν δεσμευτεί για εξεταστική για τα αποθεματικά των ταμείων» και κάλεσε την κυβέρνηση να αποσύρει διάταξη του πολυνομοσχεδίου που μιλάει για «ρήτρα μηδενικού ελλείμματος».
