Το Facebook --το μεγαλύτερο μέσο κοινωνικής δικτύωσης στον κόσμο-- και το Instagram --η δωρεάν εφαρμογή κοινοποίησης φωτογραφιών και βίντεο-- ''έπεσαν" σήμερα το πρωί για μία ώρα και, όπως ανακοίνωσε αργότερα η εταιρεία, γι' αυτό ευθύνεται ένα εσωτερικό σφάλμα στο διαδικτυακό λογισμικό της.

Η προσωρινή διακοπή της πρόσβασης στο Facebook φαίνεται ότι μεταδόθηκε και σε άλλα δίκτυα καθώς προκάλεσε προσωρινά προβλήματα και σε άλλες δημοφιλείς ιστοσελίδες, σύμφωνα με καταγγελίες χρηστών του Διαδικτύου και της κινητής τηλεφωνίας απ΄όλο τον κόσμο.

Αρχικά, μία ομάδα χάκερ που συνδέεται και με άλλες πρόσφατες κυβερνοεπιθέσεις επιχείρησε να αναλάβει την ευθύνη για το πρόβλημα, αλλά σε ανακοίνωσή του το Facebook διαψεύδει τα περί ευθύνης τρίτων.
