H Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση Επιχειρήσεων (Business Europe) παρουσίασε τις δικές της οικονομικές προβλέψεις για τα δύο επόμενα έτη, οι οποίες σε γενικές γραμμές συμβαδίζουν με τις προβλέψεις που δημοσίευσε η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή τον περασμένο Απρίλιο.

   Όπως επισημαίνει το δελτίο πληροφόρησης για ευρωπαϊκά θέματα Europolitique οι ευρωπαϊκές επιχειρήσεις ζητούν από τα κράτη μέλη να συνεχίσουν την πραγματοποίηση μεταρρυθμίσεων και να διατηρήσουν τα μέτρα δημοσιονομικής προσαρμογής μέσω νέων μειώσεων στις δημόσιες δαπάνες και όχι μέσω της επιβολής νέων φόρων.
 
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, η οργάνωση προβλέπει για το 2013 μηδενικό ρυθμό αύξησης του ΑΕΠ στην ΕΕ (0,0%) ενώ για την ευρωζώνη -0,4%. Για το 2014 προβλέπει μία αργή επιστροφή στην ανάπτυξη με μία αύξηση του ΑΕΠ κατά 1,4% στην Ε.Ε. και 1,1% στην ευρωζώνη. Ωστόσο τα στοιχεία αυτά βασίζονται στο δεδομένο ότι θα υπάρξει αποκατάσταση της εμπιστοσύνης των επιχειρήσεων κατά το δεύτερο εξάμηνο του 2013, μία υπόθεση που παραμένει ακόμα εξαιρετικά αβέβαιη, όπως αναγνωρίζει η έκθεση.
