Το Εργατικό Κόμμα του Κουρδιστάν (PKK) κάλεσε σήμερα όλους τους Κούρδους να πολεμήσουν εναντίον των μαχητών των Ισλαμικού Κράτους, που προελαύνουν στο ιρακινό έδαφος προς την αυτόνομη περιοχή του Ιρακινού Κουρδιστάν.Οι Κούρδοι κατοικούν σε μια περιοχή που εκτείνεται από τη νοτιοανατολική Τουρκία ως τη βορειοανατολική Συρία και από το βόρειο Ιράκ ως το δυτικό Ιράν.
«Όλοι οι Κούρδοι στον βορρά, στην ανατολή, στον νότο και στη δύση πρέπει να εξεγερθούν κατά της επίθεσης εναντίον των Κούρδων στη Σίντζαρ (στο βόρειο Ιράκ)» ανέφερε σε ανακοίνωσή του το PKK.
«Όλες οι κουρδικές πολιτικές δυνάμεις πρέπει να συμμετέχουν στην αντίσταση αυτή (. . .). Όταν οι Κούρδοι δέχονται επίθεση, πρέπει να δείξουν στους επιτιθέμενους ότι θα βρουν όλους τους Κούρδους απέναντί τους» προστίθεται στην ανακοίνωση.
