Περί τα 200 άτομα επέβαιναν στην αμαξοστοιχία intercity 55, που εκτελούσε το δρομολόγιο Θεσσαλονίκη-Αθήνα και εκτροχιάστηκε (μόνο το τμήμα της μηχανής) μεταξύ Λιανοκλαδίου και Δομοκού, ύστερα από σύγκρουση με αγελάδα, που βρισκόταν επάνω στις ράγες.
Όπως επιβεβαιώθηκε και από την ΤΡΑΙΝΟΣΕ, από το ατύχημα, που σημειώθηκε στις 12:50, δεν υπήρξε τραυματισμός.
Η σιδηροδρομική κυκλοφορία στο τμήμα αυτό έχει διακοπεί και θα γίνεται με λεωφορεία.
