Την συμπαράσταση και την συμπάθεια της Μητρός Εκκλησίας προς τον λαό της Ζακύνθου, ο οποίος δοκιμάζεται από τις συνέπειες του ισχυρού σεισμού που έπληξε τη νήσο, εκφράζει ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος, με επιστολή του προς τον επιχώριο Μητροπολίτη Διονύσιο. 

 

Ο Πατριάρχης εύχεται «όπως ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων και των οικτιρμών ιάσηται τας δημιουργηθείσας πληγάς, προστατεύη δε και τηρή υπό την κραταιάν σκέπην Αυτού την τε υμετέραν προσφιλή Ιερότητα και την Ιεράν Μητρόπολιν αυτής, ίνα δοξάζητε διά της ενθέου βιοτής και των αγαθών έργων υμών επί μήκιστον το πανάγιον όνομα Αυτού».
