Τη λήξη της θητείας του προσωρινού Προέδρου του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Ο.Π.Ε.Κ.Ε.Π.Ε., Νικολάου Σαλάτα, αποφάσισε ο Υπουργός Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης και Τροφίμων, Κώστας Τσιάρας, για λόγους επιτακτικού δημοσίου συμφέροντος.
 
Η απόφαση αυτή υπαγορεύτηκε από την ανάγκη αποφυγής οποιασδήποτε αμφισβήτησης σχετικά με τη διασφάλιση της ομαλής και αποτελεσματικής συνεργασίας του Οργανισμού με την Ευρωπαϊκή Εισαγγελία, κατά την άσκηση των ελεγκτικών της αρμοδιοτήτων.
